  • As we continue our journey toward luxury, we're looking for an experienced and people-focused Hotel Human Resources Practitioner with approximately 2 to 3 years' practical HR experience, with good generalist exposure across the employee lifecycle. Previous Human Resources experience within a hotel or hospitality environment will be a strong advantage.

Minimum Requirements

  • National Diploma in Human Resources or relevant HR degree
  • Approximately 2 to 3 years' practical Human Resources experience
  • Good HR generalist exposure across several areas of the employee lifecycle
  • Previous Human Resources experience within a hotel or hospitality environment will be a strong advantage
  • Working knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR best practices
  • Practical exposure to employee relations processes, including disciplinary and grievance matters
  • Understanding of Employment Equity and general HR compliance requirements
  • Experience supporting recruitment, selection and onboarding processes
  • Strong HR administration and record-keeping capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational, planning and time-management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • High level of discretion and respect for confidentiality
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence to interact professionally with employees and managers at different levels
  • Strong problem-solving ability with a practical approach to HR matters
  • Ability to prioritise and work effectively within a busy, people-intensive environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Professional grooming and presentation
  • South African ID or valid South African work authorisation
  • A fully updated CV with contactable reference details is essential

What You'll Be Doing

  • Coordinating recruitment and selection processes from vacancy through to appointment
  • Drafting job advertisements, screening applications and coordinating interviews with relevant departments
  • Conducting reference checks, criminal checks and other required background verification
  • Preparing employment documentation, offer letters and recruitment documentation
  • Coordinating new employee onboarding, induction and introductions to hotel policies, procedures, culture and standards
  • Monitoring probation periods and ensuring probation reviews are completed timeously
  • Maintaining accurate vacancy records, recruitment trackers and employee documentation
  • Providing operational HR support to employees and managers across hotel departments
  • Assisting with disciplinary, grievance, incapacity and other employee relations processes
  • Preparing documentation for disciplinary hearings, investigations, consultations and employee relations matters
  • Attending disciplinary hearings and maintaining accurate records
  • Supporting the fair and consistent application of hotel policies and procedures
  • Assisting with the implementation and monitoring of Employment Equity initiatives
  • Coordinating Employment Equity Committee meetings, documentation and records
  • Supporting HR compliance with applicable South African labour legislation
  • Assisting with Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report requirements
  • Supporting internal and external HR audits and inspections
  • Maintaining accurate records relating to Employment Equity, compliance and foreign national employees
  • Coordinating employee wellness initiatives, wellness days and employee support programmes
  • Supporting employee recognition, appreciation and engagement initiatives
  • Assisting with employee engagement surveys and feedback initiatives
  • Supporting internal employee communication and morale-building activities
  • Promoting The President Hotel's culture, values and service standards
  • Assisting with staff functions, employee events and Corporate Social Investment initiatives
  • Processing documentation relating to appointments, transfers, promotions, salary changes and other employee movements
  • Maintaining accurate electronic and physical employee files and HR records
  • Assisting with HR reporting, statistics and management information
  • Ensuring confidential employee information is handled securely and professionally at all times
