Rupert and Rothschild Vignerons, an iconic brand in the global wine industry based in the picturesque Franschhoek Valley, is seeking to recruit a Hospitality Excellence Manager to join their dynamic team.
The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences, with strong leadership, operational, and service excellence skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will report directly to the Global Sales and Marketing Manager and be responsible for (but not limited to): *Oversee daily restaurant, tasting centre and kitchen operations, ensuring an exceptional guest experience *Lead, train and develop the hospitality team *Maintain high standards of service, food, wine, cleanliness and facilities *Manage reservations, guest feedback and daily operations *Oversee stock, purchasing, suppliers, wastage and cost control *Support menu, tasting and experience development *Manage the hospitality budget and profitability targets *Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, liquor and statutory requirements *Support events, VIP experiences and trade visits *Collaborate with Sales & Marketing to promote the offering and uphold the Rupert & Rothschild brand *All other tasks related to this role.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Hospitality, Food & Beverage, or related field;
- 5+ years’ hospitality experience, including management/supervisory experience;
- Knowledge of food safety, health & safety and liquor legislation;
- Experience managing restaurant/F&B operations and kitchen coordination;
- Wine estate, tasting room or premium hospitality experience advantageous;
- Wine knowledge advantageous;
- Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport.
