A healthcare facility is looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Healthcare Administrator / Clinical Administration Coordinator to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing person-centred patient support while managing a range of healthcare administration functions, including medical scheme authorisations, patient records, billing, scheduling, reporting and general facility administration .
This is a busy and varied role that requires someone who is able to work independently, manage multiple priorities and interact professionally with patients, families, healthcare professionals, medical schemes and internal teams.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide professional, compassionate and patient-centred support to patients and their families.
- Manage medical scheme/funder authorisation processes , including obtaining consent, submitting requests, preparing supporting documentation and following up on approvals.
- Assist with clinical motivations and ensure authorisations and treatment dates are accurately monitored.
- Follow up on outstanding payments and funder-related queries.
- Capture and update relevant clinical information, treatment details, laboratory results, scans and other supporting documentation.
- Finalise admission contracts and ensure all relevant documentation is uploaded correctly.
- Maintain accurate and confidential electronic patient records.
- Schedule outpatient therapy appointments and manage changes, cancellations and rescheduling.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Previous experience in healthcare administration, clinical administration or a medical environment .
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams .
- Experience with medical scheme authorisations/funder administration will be advantageous.
- Experience with medical billing and invoicing will be advantageous.
- Good understanding of patient records and clinical documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
