Purpose of Role To promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment on construction sites in accordance with Zimbabwean safety standards and regulations. They serve as key point of contact for safety matters, ensuring workers are aware of safety protocols, and assisting in the implementation of safety practices across the project. Role Context Safety Promotion & Awareness: Conduct safety inductions and toolbox talks for all workers and contractors. Promote a safety culture among site personnel through continuous engagement and awareness campaigns. Site Inspections & Monitoring: Regularly inspect the construction site for hazards and unsafe practices. Ensure the proper use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols. Incident Reporting & Investigation: Report and investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses. Maintain accurate records of safety incidents and follow-up actions. Compliance & Regulations: Ensure compliance with Zimbabwean Occupational Safety and Health Act and other relevant regulations. Assist in preparation for safety audits and inspections by authorities. Hazard Identification & Risk Management: Identify potential hazards related to construction activities. Work with the safety team to develop and implement corrective measures. Documentation & Reporting : Maintain safety documentation, checklists, and records. Prepare regular safety reports for site management. Coordination and Communication: Liaise with contractors, workers, and management to address safety concerns. Ensure safety signage, barriers, and warning systems are in place and visible.
