• 35 years' relevant experience in a health & safety role. • Relevant Health and Safety qualification, such as SAMTRAC or an OHS Diploma. • Construction/Scaffolding background. • Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act. • Experience with Passport 360 and HSEC Online. • Proficient in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint. • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. • Strong attention to detail and administrative ability. • Safety-conscious and responsible. • Highly organised and detail-oriented. • Proactive and observant. • Confident and assertive. • Able to work well with employees at all levels. Duties and responsibilities:
- Compile, update, and maintain comprehensive health and safety files.
- Prepare and maintain Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and SOPs.
- Conduct regular site and floor inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
- Assist with logging, tracking, and investigating accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
- Coordinate employee safety inductions and toolbox talks.
- Maintain accurate employee safety training and certification records.
- Audit and maintain first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and PPE registers.
- Monitor safety compliance and ensure required corrective actions are followed up.
- Assist with ongoing OHSA and Construction Regulations compliance.
- Prepare safety presentations, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Head of Operations and H&S team.
- Promote a strong safety-first culture across the workplace.
