Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Head Office Accountant to join their finance team in Cape Town. This role is ideal for a qualified accounting professional with strong financial reporting, reconciliations, and rebate management experience who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
What You'll Be Doing
As the Head Office Accountant , you will be responsible for
- Processing monthly group journals and accounting entries.
- Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Compiling accurate monthly financial reports for management.
- Managing the end-to-end supplier rebate process.
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
- Processing rebate accruals and reconciling actual rebates received.
- Ensuring timely collection of supplier rebates.
- Forecasting and tracking volume rebates with the Merchandise team.
- Assisting with financial projects and process improvements across the group.
- Supporting the implementation and standardisation of financial policies and procedures.
Desired Experience & Qualification
What We're Looking For
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12).
- BCompt (Honours) with completed articles.
- Minimum 5 years' relevant accounting experience .
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
