Job Description

  • Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for a Head of Ecosytem Marketing for their Head Office.The Ecosystem marketing role leads the marketing interface for all Dis-Chem ecosystem offerings, including Financial Services Insurance & Health, Clinic/Pharmacy services, Loyalty & Societal Health Programmes.
  • It manages a team of ecosystem-aligned marketers who translate ecosystem strategies into actionable marketing plans, campaign objectives, service-specific content briefs, and cross-channel execution requirements. It acts as a strategic partner to ecosystem business leaders to support growth, customer adoption, and engagement.

Minimum Requirements… Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related discipline. Honours degree or postgraduate qualification advantageous.
  • 8+ years' experience in category marketing, brand management, ecosystem marketing, or integrated marketing leadership roles within retail, healthcare, financial services, FMCG, or consumer-facing environments
  • 3–5 years' experience in a leadership or people management role
  • Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end marketing planning and execution for service-led environments

Responsibilities

Ecosystem marketing plans and prioritisation

  • Lead development of annual Ecosystem marketing plans for Financial services, Clinic/pharmacy, and societal health programmes, ensuring alignment with ecosystem strategies and integration into the overarching marketing calendar
  • Translate ecosystem objectives into clear campaign goals, messaging priorities, value propositions, and timelines
  • Develop ecosystem-specific insights derived from service utilisation trends, customer behaviour, competitive dynamics, and market research
  • Consolidate ecosystem marketing requirements across the three verticals to drive prioritisation and resource allocation based on strategic importance, customer impact, and readiness

Ecosystem & service marketing leadership

  • Guide and coach ecosystem marketing resources Financial services, Clinic/pharmacy, Loyalty/foundation to deliver high-quality briefs, insights, and ecosystem-aligned marketing requirements
  • Ensure development of strong campaign and content briefs that provide clear direction to Creative and content, and Integrated marketing campaign teams

Cross-channel campaign development & execution

  • Partner with Integrated marketing campaign team to ensure cross-channel execution aligns with ecosystem requirements and accurately reflects service propositions e.g., insurance benefits, clinic services, loyalty mechanics
  • Monitor execution quality across all channels digital, social, in-store, traditional media and ensure campaigns meet regulatory, brand, and service standards
  • Support ecosystem adoption and engagement by coordinating targeted campaigns, education content, and in-store service promotion

  • Strong understanding of services marketing and ecosystem value propositions
  • Experience developing marketing strategies for services such as financial products, healthcare, loyalty programmes, or community initiatives
  • Ability to interpret service performance metrics and translate them into actionable marketing insights
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a multi-service marketing team
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to balance multiple ecosystem priorities
  • Experience collaborating with service owners Insurance, Health, Clinic, Loyalty and influencing cross-functional teams

  • Ecosystem marketing outcomes: Delivery of annual ecosystem marketing plans, alignment to ecosystem strategies, and timely briefs
  • Campaign effectiveness: Achievement of ecosystem-specific campaign objectives e.g., adoption, engagement, utilisation
  • Ecosystem contribution: Impact on commercial or utilisation outcomes tied to ecosystem marketing efforts
