Job Purpose
A well-established national retail group is seeking a results-driven and analytical Head of Department – Shrinkage to lead and strengthen shrinkage prevention initiatives across the business.
The successful candidate will drive stock-loss reduction, improve inventory accuracy, identify operational risks and implement effective controls to protect profitability across retail operations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement group-wide shrinkage prevention strategies.
Monitor stock losses, wastage, damages, theft and inventory discrepancies.
Analyse shrinkage reports to identify trends, risks and root causes.
Conduct stock-loss investigations and recommend corrective actions.
Collaborate with Operations, Internal Audit, Finance and Store Management.
Implement policies and preventative measures to minimise losses.
Monitor stock counts, inventory accuracy and compliance.
Develop shrinkage dashboards, management reports and KPIs.
Train store teams on loss prevention and stock control.
Drive continuous improvement and measurable reductions in shrinkage.
Minimum Requirements
Relevant qualification in Supply Chain, Retail Management, Accounting, Auditing or Risk Management.
Retail Food industry is a Must
Extensive experience in shrinkage, loss prevention, stock control or retail operations.
Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to interpret reports and identify stock-loss trends.
Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Strong knowledge of inventory controls, auditing and risk management.
Willingness to travel to stores when required.
