HAUS Showroom Operations Controller (Coastal)

We have an exciting opportunity for a HAUS Showroom Operations Controller (Coastal) based in Stikland, Cape Town . This role is ideal for a highly organised and analytical professional with a passion for operational excellence, inventory management, and process improvement within a retail environment.

The main purpose of the role is to oversee and optimise operational processes across our HAUS Coastal Showrooms. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving stock accuracy, operational compliance, showroom standards, and continuous improvement initiatives to support business performance, profitability, and exceptional customer experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key duties

• Stock take coordination and management.

• Coordinate, plan, and execute all Hertex and HAUS stock takes across Inland showrooms and warehouses in line with company schedules.

• Variance Management and Root Cause Analysis

• Reduce stock variances and losses.

• Reconcile physical stock take results against system (ERP/POS) figures.

• Identify, investigate, and document stock variances, determining root causes.

• Evaluate current showroom operational processes (receipting, transfers, sales recording, returns, etc.) and identify inefficiencies or compliance gaps.

• Oversee the sample approval (appros) process across all Inland HAUS showrooms, ensuring accurate tracking, documentation, and return of all loaned items.

• Audit sample appro records to ensure compliance with policy and timely invoicing or returns.

• Conduct periodic showroom operational audits and provide feedback, action plans, and follow-up reviews.

• Maintain updated operational manuals, guidelines, and checklists for all branches.

• Develop, distribute, and monitor monthly operational and compliance checklists for Inland Showrooms.

• Develop and implement strategies to clear discontinued, flawed, and shop-soiled HAUS stock from Inland Showrooms.

• Coordinate with marketing and merchandising teams on clearance promotions and outlet allocations.

• Monitor clearance stock levels and sales performance, adjusting strategies to maximize recovery values and minimize losses.

• Maintain accurate records of all markdowns, write-offs, and clearance actions for reporting and audit purposes.

It may be required to work on Saturdays from time to time.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Job requirements

• National Senior Certificate

• Valid driver’s license

• Roadworthy and reliable vehicle

• Retail Management, or Accounting (advantageous).

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in retail operations, stock control, or supply chain management, ideally within a multi-branch environment.

• Experience working with POS systems (e.g. Syspro, SAGE, or similar).

• Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities.

Skills and knowledge

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• In-depth understanding of retail stock control and inventory management principles.

• Excellent organizational and project coordination skills.

• High attention to detail with the ability to identify patterns and variances.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to influence across departments.

• Proven track record in implementing operational improvements and process standardization.
