Handyman

• Tsebo Fcailities Solutions is looking for a Handyman Position provide technical support through reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance of plant, equipment, buildings, and facilities within agreed service levels. The Handyman is responsible for carrying out a wide range of maintenance, repair, installation, and inspection tasks to ensure that site infrastructure remains safe, functional, and well-maintained.

Duties & Responsibilities

Maintenance and Repairs

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities assigned by the Senior Technician.

• Attend to reactive maintenance requests and breakdown repairs.

• Apply best operating practices and maintenance standards when carrying out repairs.

• Inspect facilities and identify maintenance requirements.

• Ensure all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the required quality standards.

Plumbing

• Repair leaks and damaged pipework.

• Replace taps, valves, and plumbing fixtures.

• Unblock drains and perform general plumbing maintenance.

Electrical Maintenance

• Replace lights, fittings, and basic electrical components.

• Conduct basic electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting within competency limits.

• Ensure electrical work complies with safety requirements.

Carpentry and Building Maintenance

• Repair and install doors, windows, shelves, cabinets, and general woodwork.

• Undertake minor building repairs and maintenance activities.

• Carry out tiling, glazing, drywall, and finishing repairs as required.

Painting and Finishing

• Prepare surfaces for painting.

• Apply primer, paint, and touch-up finishes.

• Repair surface defects before painting.

Flooring and Installations

• Install and repair laminate, vinyl, and tile flooring.

• Replace damaged floor components where required.

General Facility Maintenance

• Conduct routine maintenance inspections.

• Replace filters, lubricate equipment, adjust fittings, and identify safety hazards.

• Assist with furniture assembly and installation tasks.

• Maintain external areas, including fencing, gates, gutters, and outdoor structures.

Skills and Competencies

• General maintenance and repair techniques.

• Plumbing maintenance and repairs.

• Basic electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.

• Carpentry and building repairs.

• Painting, tiling, glazing, and drywall repairs.

• Knowledge of HVAC systems and preventative maintenance principles.

• Understanding of tools, equipment, and materials used in maintenance activities.

• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.

• Basic fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric).

Experience

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance, handyman, facilities, or building maintenance environment.
