Start free — we apply for you →Job Title: Guide and Admin Couple Start Date: 2026-08-25 - 2026-09-30 Vacancy Type: Permanent JHB003523 Sectors: Admin, Office & Support Field Guide Hospitality Location: Limpopo , Hoedspruit Salary: (Market related) Brief: A Guide & Admin Assistant Management Couple is a two-person lodge team where one partner focuses primarily on field guiding, guest activities and safari experiences , while the other handles administration, reservations, front-of-house and operational support . This combination is commonly used in smaller luxury safari lodges where both partners are expected to be hands-on and assist across lodge operations. Field Guide / Assistant Management Partner Key Duties & Responsibilities Conduct daily game drives and guided bush experiences. Provide engaging and informative interpretation of wildlife, fauna, flora and the local ecosystem. Ensure guest safety throughout all safari activities. Deliver personalised and memorable guest experiences. Conduct bush walks where appropriately qualified. Prepare and inspect safari vehicles before and after drives. Ensure vehicles, radios, firearms and guiding equipment are maintained and correctly stored. Maintain accurate vehicle and equipment checklists. Communicate interesting information about conservation, wildlife and the reserve. Assist with guest hosting, meals, sundowners and special activities. Assist with general lodge operations when required. Support lodge management with staff supervision and operational tasks. Assist with maintenance and upkeep of lodge areas where necessary. Participate in emergency procedures and maintain a high level of safety awareness. Build strong relationships with guests and encourage positive guest feedback. Luxury Hoedspruit positions commonly require FGASA qualifications, First Aid, a valid PrDP/PDP where applicable, and previous private-reserve or luxury-lodge guiding experience. . Admin Assistant / Front-of-House Partner Key Duties & Responsibilities Assist with the daily administration of the lodge. Manage guest arrivals, check-ins and departures. Handle reservations and guest bookings. Respond to guest and agent emails, telephone calls and enquiries. Maintain accurate guest records and lodge documentation. Assist with guest accounts, payments, petty cash and reconciliations. Prepare daily operational reports. Assist with stock control and stocktaking. Assist with ordering and receiving lodge supplies. Coordinate guest activities and special requests. Communicate guest requirements to housekeeping, F&B and guiding teams. Assist with room checks and camp readiness. Handle guest queries and complaints professionally. Assist with planning and coordinating bush breakfasts, sundowners and other special experiences. Maintain high standards of presentation and guest service. Assist the Lodge Manager with general administrative and operational duties. Support staff management, rosters and departmental communication where required. Detail: Both partners should be prepared to: Host guests and act as lodge ambassadors. Assist across departments when operationally required. Maintain five-star service standards. Supervise and support lodge staff. Assist with staff training and development. Resolve guest problems quickly and professionally. Assist with lodge maintenance and property presentation. Participate in lodge briefings and management meetings. Ensure health, safety and hygiene standards are maintained. Work closely with the Lodge Manager. Assist with special events and private guest experiences. Maintain professional relationships with suppliers, guides and travel partners. Be willing to work hands-on rather than remaining restricted to their individual roles . This flexibility is particularly important in smaller safari properties, where management couples may be expected to assist with several areas of lodge operations. Qualifications & Experience Field Guide Essential: FGASA qualification appropriate to the position. Valid First Aid certificate. Valid driver's licence. Valid PrDP/PDP where required. Previous field-guiding experience. Strong knowledge of South African wildlife, fauna and flora. Knowledge of bushveld ecology and conservation. Excellent guest communication and storytelling skills. Strong safety awareness. Advantageous: FGASA Level 2. FGASA Advanced Rifle Handling. FGASA Trails Guide qualification. Lead Trails Guide experience. Previous Big Five/private game reserve experience. Previous five-star lodge experience. NDT/appropriate guiding registration. Additional specialist guiding qualifications. Some current Hoedspruit roles specify FGASA Level 1, Lead Trails Guide, ARH, First Aid Level 1 and PrDP , while other properties accept an appropriate FGASA qualification depending on the guiding responsibilities. Admin Assistant Essential: Grade 12 / Matric. Previous administration, reservations, reception or hospitality experience. Excellent computer literacy. MS Office proficiency. Strong written and verbal English. Excellent organisational and time-management skills. High attention to detail. Good numerical and administrative ability. Excellent guest-relations skills.
