CK Africa Talent is recruiting on behalf of an established hotel based at the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town , for an experienced and professional Guest Relations Officer to join their team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and respond to reservation enquiries accurately and within required turnaround times
- Check and process reservations and bookings
- Manage group reservations, contracts and invoices
- Process payments, confirmations and amendments
- Maintain accurate guest and company profiles on the hotel system
- Assist with promoting hotel facilities and services
- Monitor room-type availability and manage potential overbookings
- Ensure deposits and contracts are received and processed correctly
- Maintain effective communication with the Reservations and Sales & Marketing departments
- Provide professional service and a high level of customer care
- Perform general office and administrative duties as required
Reporting to: Reservations Manager and Assistant Reservations Manager
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position within the hotel industry
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Hospitality Management Diploma or relevant qualification
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience with group/block reservations is essential
- Front Office and cashiering experience is advantageous
- Excellent administration and organisational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Fluent in English
- Customer-focused, professional and well presented
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong time management and emotional intelligence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Willingness to work shifts and occasional overtime
