Start free — we apply for you →Job Title: Guest Activity Coordinator Start Date: 2026-08-31 - 2026-09-30 Vacancy Type: Permanent JHB003556 Sectors: Hospitality Location: Western Cape , Simonstown Salary: (Market related) Brief: The Guest Activity Coordinator is a newly created position responsible for coordinating and delivering exceptional guest experiences beyond the property. At its core, this is a driving and touring role, requiring an individual who is confident transporting guests, hosting excursions and acting as an ambassador for the luxury hospitality brand throughout the Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating guest excursions, activities and transfers between two properties and various destinations throughout Cape Town and the surrounding areas. They will be expected to take full ownership of the guest journey when guests are off-property, ensuring that every excursion is well planned, seamless, safe and enjoyable. The ideal candidate should be local to the Cape Peninsula and have an exceptional knowledge of the area, including wine farms, beaches, cultural attractions, restaurants, nature reserves, tourist destinations and other activities that may be recommended to guests. This person should be a confident driver, knowledgeable local guide, polished host and excellent communicator who can interact comfortably with a diverse range of local and international guests. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Guest Activities & Excursions Coordinate and host guest excursions, tours and activities throughout Cape Town and surrounding areas. Safely and professionally transport guests to various destinations and attractions. Provide an engaging and informative hosting experience throughout excursions. Assist guests with planning activities based on their interests, preferences and available time. Make recommendations regarding attractions, restaurants, wine farms, experiences and activities. Take ownership of the guest experience from departure through to their return. Anticipate guest needs and proactively address any issues that may arise during excursions. Ensure all guest activities are planned and executed to a high standard. Transfers & Transportation Conduct guest transfers between the two properties and other destinations as required. Ensure all guest transportation is conducted safely, professionally and punctually. Plan routes in advance and remain informed about traffic, road conditions, closures and potential delays. Ensure the vehicle is clean, presentable, safe and appropriately prepared before transporting guests. Assist guests with luggage where required. Maintain a professional and welcoming demeanour throughout all transfers. Coordination Between Properties Act as a shared resource between the two properties. Communicate effectively with both properties regarding upcoming guest activities, excursions and transfers. Proactively manage the activity and transfer schedule without requiring constant reminders. Ensure all arrangements are confirmed and communicated to the relevant teams. Take responsibility for identifying what needs to be done and following through to completion. Liaise with management and operational teams to ensure a seamless guest experience. Local Knowledge & Guest Recommendations Maintain an excellent knowledge of Cape Town, the Cape Peninsula and surrounding areas. Have strong knowledge of attractions and activities available to guests, including: Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope Boulders Beach and the African penguin colony Table Mountain V&A Waterfront Constantia Wine Route Stellenbosch and Franschhoek Beaches and coastal attractions Nature reserves and outdoor activities Cultural and historical attractions Restaurants and dining experiences Shopping and entertainment Stay informed about new attractions, experiences, restaurants and activities that may enhance the guest offering. Build and maintain positive relationships with relevant activity providers and suppliers where appropriate. Guest Service & Hosting Build rapport with guests from different countries, cultures, backgrounds and age groups. Communicate confidently and professionally with guests. Adapt the hosting style according to individual guests and groups. Provide interesting information about destinations, history, culture and attractions where appropriate. Ensure guests feel safe, comfortable and well cared for throughout their journey. Handle guest questions, requests and concerns professionally. Gather guest feedback regarding excursions and activities. Report guest complaints or concerns to management promptly. Safety & Compliance Prioritise guest safety at all times. Comply with applicable road, transport and company regulations. Ensure the vehicle is operated responsibly and professionally. Conduct appropriate vehicle checks before journeys. Ensure all required driving and professional documentation remains valid. Follow company guest service, health and safety and operational procedures. Detail: Minimum Requirements Qualifications & Certifications Valid South African Driver's Licence. Valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit). Advanced Driving qualification will be highly advantageous. Formal guiding qualification will be advantageous. First Aid certification will be advantageous. Experience Previous experience in a guest-facing hospitality, tourism, guiding or activities environment. Experience transporting and/or hosting guests on excursions. Experience as a tour guide, driver guide, guest activity coordinator or similar role would be advantageous. Experience working with international guests is highly advantageous. Previous luxury hospitality or tourism experience will be beneficial. Knowledge Excellent knowledge of Cape Town, the Cape Peninsula and surrounding areas. Strong knowledge of local tourist attractions, activities, restaurants, wine farms and experiences. Familiarity with popular tourist routes and destinations. Good understanding of the expectations of international and luxury-travel guests. Knowledge of alternative activities and destinations to provide personalised recommendations.
