Job Description

Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) presents an exciting opportunity for a Group Lead: Quality, to join the Supply Chain team at CCBA. The role will report to the Group Head: Operations Sustainability.

CCBA is the 8th largest Coca-Cola authorised bottler in the world by revenue, and the largest on the continent. It accounts for over 40% of all Coca-Cola ready-to-drink beverages sold in Africa by volume. The purpose of this role is to support the planning, design, implementation, and optimisation of utility infrastructure across CCBA operations, ensuring reliable, efficient, and sustainable delivery of services such as steam, compressed air, refrigeration, HVAC, and water treatment. The role provides technical expertise to utility projects and operational teams, driving compliance with engineering standards, enhancing system performance, and contributing to energy and water efficiency initiatives that support operational excellence, cost optimisation, and CCBA's sustainability objectives.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Support the scoping, specification, and execution of utility infrastructure projects - including boilers, compressors, chillers, HVAC, and water treatment - in line with agreed project plans and business priorities.

• Apply CCBA and KO utilities design and engineering standards in project documentation, equipment specifications, and installation reviews, escalating deviations where required.

• Provide hands-on technical support to in-country teams on equipment specification, troubleshooting, and system optimisation to improve day-to-day utilities performance.

• Contribute to energy and water efficiency initiatives, identifying opportunities that support CCBA's ESG targets and reduce consumption per unit produced.

• Assist with the technical evaluation of supplier proposals and utility technologies, preparing comparisons and recommendations for review and approval.

• Support the integration of utility systems with production, packaging, and facility infrastructure to maximise reliability and cost-effectiveness.

• Participate in commissioning, performance validation, and post-project reviews, capturing lessons learned and supporting corrective actions.

• Share tools, standards, and best practices with market engineering teams to build utilities capability and improve consistency of execution.

Skills, Experience & Education

Education

• B. Eng / BSc Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical)

Experience

• 6-8 years practical engineering experience. Work experience in FMCG an added advantage

• Advantageous - Experience in Services & Utilities within an FMCG environmen

Skills

• Sound technical knowledge of utility systems (boilers, chillers, HVAC, compressed air, water treatment) and how they integrate into manufacturing operations.

• Ability to support project planning, execution, and monitoring so that work is delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to budget.

• Ability to interpret and apply global (KO) and local standards to ensure utility work meets safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

• Effective collaboration across engineering, production, procurement, and SHEQ teams to support integrated project delivery.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve technical issues and improve utilities system performance in markets.

• Working knowledge of energy and water optimisation techniques that contribute to CCBA's ESG targets.
