The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, compiling and implementing the marketing communication strategy for the Group as well as the individual business units within the Group;
  • Managing the marketing team to ensure achievable goals are met;
  • Developing and expanding the Group’s brand;
  • Developing and managing the Group’s social media;
  • Providing support regarding corporate branding and marketing;
  • Implement and monitor sales and marketing strategies;
  • Maintaining the OBARO Group's corporate identity and managing the brand;
  • Managing internal communication strategies;
  • Developing the Group's advertisements and publicity;
  • Planning and implementing image-building actions for the Group's stakeholders;
  • Attending corporate functions;
  • Coordinating the Group's marketing communication actions by interacting with representatives from each division; and
  • Managing and coordinating internal communication initiatives to employees.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Minimum grade 12 qualification;
  • A relevant tertiary qualification (preferably in Communication, Marketing, or Public Relations) will be required;
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar position or field;
  • Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English (both spoken and written communication);
  • At least 2 years of management experience;
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office;
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Adwords will be an advantage;
  • Ability to show initiative and creativity, while also being able to work in a team;
  • Proven experience in project management;
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable own vehicle will be required;
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends; and
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
