Group Accountant (Permanent)

Job Title: Group Accountant Start Date: 2026-08-31 - 2026-09-17 Vacancy Type: Permanent SW006554 Sectors: Finance Location: Western Cape , Strand Salary: Brief: A well established retailer is seeking to employ a Group Accountant to join their head office situated in Strand. The purpose of the role will be to manage and oversee financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide accurate financial reporting to support effective decision-making. Detail: Key Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and reports Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts Prepare management reports Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and prepare VAT returns Conduct internal audits and implement financial controls Prepare audit files for auditors Generate ad hoc financial reports as required by management Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Pastel or similar) Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities High level of integrity and professionalism Education and Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
