CemAir (Pty) Ltd, a South African Part 121 / 135 airline based at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, is seeking to employ an experienced GSE Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and serviceability of our ground support equipment and Company vehicles.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance, servicing and repair of Company GSE and vehicles.
- Manage preventative and corrective maintenance programmes.
- Diagnose and oversee the rectification of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic defects.
- Monitor equipment serviceability and minimise downtime.
- Supervise and allocate work to GSE mechanics and technicians.
- Monitor workmanship, productivity and adherence to maintenance procedures.
- Ensure all maintenance is performed safely and in accordance with applicable requirements and manufacturer specifications.
- Ensure compliance with airside and airport safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service histories and equipment registers.
- Liaise with operational departments regarding equipment availability and urgent maintenance requirements.
- Identify recurring defects and implement appropriate corrective action.
- Plan and prepare budgets
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Relevant mechanical trade qualification, preferably Diesel Mechanic, Motor Mechanic or equivalent mandatory
- Previous experience in vehicle or GSE maintenance.
- Previous management or team leadership experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Previous experience within an aviation environment is advantageous
- Knowledge of airside safety requirements is advantageous
- High level of PC literacy
