Introduction

The Greater Midstream Forum (GMF) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced leaders for the newly established role of Greater Midstream Precinct Manager (GMP).

This is a unique opportunity to establish and lead an innovative precinct management model that will shape the future of the Greater Midstream area.

Reporting directly to the Chairperson of the Greater Midstream Forum and its Board, the successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, operational coordination and stakeholder management across multiple organisations to enhance safety, governance, infrastructure, environmental sustainability, economic growth and community value.

The GMP operates on a collaborative governance model similar to the recognized Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), bringing together key stakeholders to deliver integrated precinct management and shared services.

Job Specification

The successful candidate will be responsible for (not limited to)

  • Providing operational leadership for GMP initiatives, including public space management, security coordination, environmental services, stakeholder engagement and infrastructure-related liaison.
  • Support the GMF Chairperson, Board, committees and related governance structures through effective planning, coordination, communication, reporting and secretariat support.
  • Develop, implement and monitor the GMP’s business plan, annual calendar, projects, performance indicators and governance processes.
  • Manage stakeholder relations with estate managers, municipalities, law enforcement, business owners, service providers and other internal and external role players.
  • Oversee financial planning, budget control, expenditure allocation, monthly reporting, procurement discipline and contribution management.
  • Manage contracts, service-level agreements and third-party service providers to ensure accountability, compliance and value delivery.
  • Drive Place Branding, Place Marketing and communication activities that support the reputation, economic vitality, safety and attractiveness of the precinct.
  • Identify operational risks and dependencies and coordinate practical mitigation actions with relevant subject matter experts.

Minimum Requirements & Key Competencies

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree, National Diploma or NQF Level 6 qualification in Business Management or a related field.
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification will be advantageous.
  • Minimum 10 years' relevant professional experience, including significant management experience in an estate, community, precinct, improvement district, property, facilities, municipal, business association or comparable multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Proven experience in project management and implementation and roll-out of multiple projects with strong requirements for coordination and collaboration.
  • Strong capability in stakeholder management, financial management, project management, governance, reporting and communication.
  • Willingness and availability to work outside standard business hours when required.
  • Experience in place branding and marketing would be an advantage.

Remuneration

R900,000 – R1,050,000 CTC per annum, depending on qualifications, relevant experience and demonstrated capability.
