The duties and responsibilities will include, but not limited to

  • Support the Finance Team in reviewing and verifying implementing partners' monthly financial transactions.
  • Monitor expenditure against approved budgets and donor requirements.
  • Ensure transactions and supporting documentation comply with donor rules, organisational policies, and financial procedures.
  • Assist with the processing and review of monthly grant disbursements.
  • Conduct financial compliance assessments and follow up on identified issues.
  • Provide accounting and financial management support to implementing partners.
  • Assist partners with budget preparation, budget monitoring, and financial reporting.
  • Provide capacity development and guidance to implementing partners on accounting processes, financial controls, and compliance.
  • Review financial reports and supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Support the Finance Team with reconciliations, reporting, and other accounting activities as required.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure appropriate documentation is retained.
  • Contribute to strengthening financial controls and improving grant financial management processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years' experience in an accounting or finance position.
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes and principles.
  • Good knowledge of Balance Sheets and Income Statements.
  • Experience with the full accounting cycle, from accounts processing through to preparation of financial statements.
  • Experience working with accounting software and ERP systems.
  • NETSUITE experience will be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of financial controls, compliance, and budget monitoring.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with implementing partners and internal teams.
