- AFGRI is thrilled to announce two incredible opportunities for talented and driven graduates to join our Grain Management Department on an exciting 18-month Graduate Programme commencing 1 February 2027.
- This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about agriculture, commodity markets, grain management and commercial decision-making and are looking to build a career in the agricultural sector.
- The successful candidates will gain valuable practical exposure to grain management, agricultural markets, commercial analysis, risk management, grain logistics and the broader grain value chain.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Completed NQF Level 7 Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness Management, Agriculture, Economics, Finance, Risk Management, or related commercial or agricultural discipline.
- Strong academic performance, particularly in quantitative, economic, agricultural or financial subjects.
- Computer literacy with practical proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- A valid driver's licence, or the ability to obtain one before commencement of the programme
Advantageous
The following will be considered and advantage
Exposure to grain production, agricultural markets, commodity trading, grain logistics or silo operations
Completion of the Agricultural Products Markets Dealers Exam, or short-course exposure to
- JSE agricultural derivatives
- Futures and options
- Hedging
- Price-risk management
- Vacation work, internship, job shadowing or other practical agricultural experience
- Postgraduate studies in Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Finance or Risk Management
