Graduate Simulation Engineer

Simutron is looking for a capable engineering graduate to develop into a simulation specialist in Pretoria or Cape Town.

The role has a strong technical focus on engineering simulation. The primary requirement is that the successful candidate should continue to develop a thorough understanding of relevant engineering disciplines and underlying physics in this role, enabling sound engineering-problem solving and physics analysis through simulation. The successful candidate is expected to have a passion for learning that drives deep understanding of engineering problems.

A secondary requirement is that the successful candidate should develop strong competency with the Siemens simulation tools relevant to their field of work. A non-exhaustive list of the tools that Simutron focusses on includes Simcenter Hypermesh, OptiStruct, Radioss, MotionSolve, SimLab and EDEM. Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Progress towards becoming a subject-matter expert in selected simulation disciplines.

• Develop technical expertise in the relevant Simcenter mechanical simulation tools and solvers.

• Continuously develop knowledge of simulation methods, solver technology and engineering applications.

• Support customer projects and technical queries.

• Prepare clear technical reports, demonstrations and presentations.

Minimum Requirements

• B.Eng, BSc Eng or M.Eng in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.

• Strong academic record, to be submitted with your application.

• Genuine interest in engineering physics, numerical methods, and computational engineering.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Previous commercial CAE experience is not required. Exposure to engineering analysis and simulation tools would be advantageous.
