- You will engage directly with doctors, primarily GPs, while developing scientific product knowledge, professional relationships and commercial skills.
Available Territories
- Western Cape Central: Cape Town CBD, Milnerton, Panorama, Cape Flats and Blouberg, with West Coast travel to Langebaan and Vredendal.
- Western Cape South: Southern Suburbs and Helderberg, with travel to Hermanus and Plettenberg Bay.
- Western Cape North: Northern Suburbs, Winelands and Boland, extending to Robertson, Worcester, Montagu and Ceres.
Minimum Requirements
- A completed BSc or related health-science degree focused on human biology, anatomy or physiology.
- No experience is required.
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle.
- Must be based in the Western Cape and able to service the allocated territory.
- Comfortable with daily travel and longer country trips.
- Confident communicating and presenting to doctors, primarily general practitioners.
- Able to understand and clearly explain scientific and clinical product information.
- Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- Professional, ambitious and interested in developing a career in pharmaceutical sales.
- Organised and able to manage appointments, travel and a structured territory call cycle.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote and detail pharmaceutical products directly to doctors, primarily general practitioners.
- Explain product indications, clinical benefits and appropriate usage clearly and accurately.
- Complete pharmaceutical product, medical, scientific and sales training.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the assigned product portfolio.
- Remain informed about relevant medical, clinical and scientific developments.
- Build credible and long-term professional relationships with doctors.
- Plan and conduct regular structured visits to medical practices within the allocated territory.
- Schedule appointments and maintain an effective doctor call cycle.
- Prepare for one-on-one product-detailing discussions and presentations.
- Identify opportunities to increase product awareness and support territory growth.
- Work towards agreed activity, sales and performance objectives.
- Monitor competitor activity, market developments and feedback from doctors.
- Provide accurate market and customer feedback to management.
- Complete required call reports and territory administration.
- Use a personal vehicle to travel throughout the assigned territory.
- Undertake longer day trips and country trips where required.
