Graduate Mechatronics (NDip/ Degree) - Junior Applications Engineer

Introduction

We are seeking a motivated, technically minded, and enthusiastic Graduate Mechatronics Engineer (NDip) to join our team as a Junior Applications Engineer within the material handling industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to launch their engineering career by gaining hands-on experience in technical applications, engineering solutions, equipment selection, and customer support. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced engineers and sales professionals to develop practical, cost-effective solutions that meet our customers’ material handling requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with the design, development, and application of material handling solutions.

• Interpret customer requirements, technical specifications, drawings, and equipment layouts.

• Support the selection and sizing of mechanical, electrical, and automation components.

• Prepare technical quotations, proposals, equipment specifications, and supporting documentation.

• Assist with engineering calculations, product configurations, and solution costing.

• Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal sales and engineering teams to ensure suitable technical solutions are provided.

• Provide technical support during project implementation, commissioning, and troubleshooting where required.

• Develop an understanding of material handling systems, industrial equipment, automation, and control systems.

• Conduct research on products, technologies, and engineering solutions to support continuous improvement.

• Assist with site visits, customer consultations, and technical presentations when required.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• National Diploma (NDip) in Mechatronics Engineering .

• Recently qualified graduate or candidate with limited relevant work experience.

• A sound understanding of mechanical, electrical, electronic, and control systems.

• Basic knowledge of automation, PLCs, sensors, actuators, and industrial equipment will be advantageous.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

• Familiarity with CAD software will be an advantage.

• A valid driver’s licence will be advantageous, depending on travel requirements.

Package & Remuneration

R22 500 CTC to R34 000 CTC per month based on qualifications and experience
