Our client, a fast-growing commercial renewable energy company , is looking for an ambitious and technically minded Graduate Electrical Engineer to join their growing engineering and projects team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified Electrical Engineer who is passionate about renewable energy and wants to develop a career in the rapidly growing commercial and industrial (C&I) solar energy sector .
The successful candidate will gain practical exposure to solar PV systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), electrical design, site assessments, project development, procurement and commissioning while working alongside experienced engineers and project professionals.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with the electrical design of commercial solar PV and battery storage systems
- Support senior engineers with system sizing, equipment selection and technical calculations
- Assist with preparing single-line diagrams, electrical layouts and technical drawings
- Conduct and participate in client and project site assessments
- Assist with solar PV feasibility studies and energy yield assessments
- Support the preparation of technical proposals and project quotations
- Assist with compiling bills of quantities, equipment schedules and technical specifications
- Review supplier quotations and technical documentation
- Assist with grid connection and electrical compliance requirements
- Support project managers and senior engineers during project implementation
- Attend site meetings and assist with construction and installation supervision
- Assist with testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of renewable energy systems
- Review project documentation, drawings and contractor submissions
- Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate project records
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, clients and internal stakeholders
- Stay up to date with developments in solar PV, BESS and commercial energy solutions
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Eng / BSc Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
- South African citizenship or valid right to work in South Africa
- Strong academic record
- Sound understanding of electrical engineering principles
- Interest in renewable energy, solar PV and energy storage
Package & Remuneration
R25 000 CTC to R33 000 CTC per month based on experience and qualifications
