Graduate Civil Engineer

Introduction

Our client is looking for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join their project delivery team and gain hands-on experience across water infrastructure projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified Civil Engineer who is technically minded, enjoys a combination of office-based engineering and site work, and is looking to build strong project management capabilities while progressing towards ECSA professional registration.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support during project implementation, including site inspections, material verification and quality assurance.

• Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with engineering standards and client specifications.

• Prepare technical inspection reports, site notes and corrective-action recommendations.

• Analyse water consumption, flow and pressure data to identify performance issues and savings opportunities.

• Develop spreadsheets, calculations and models to support engineering and financial decision-making.

• Assist with progress reports, completion reports and project documentation.

• Assist in preparing technical sections of tenders, proposals and expressions of interest.

• Research potential project opportunities and provide technical input.

• Prepare cost estimates, Bills of Quantities and basic designs for proposals.

• Contribute to presentations and business cases for new projects.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• BEng / BSc / BTech in Civil Engineering

• Recent graduate or up to 2 years' relevant experience

• Registered as, or intending to register as, an ECSA Candidate Engineer/Technologist

• Valid driver's licence

• Strong Microsoft Excel and data-analysis skills

• Strong technical writing and reporting ability

• Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a project team

Package & Remuneration

One year Fixed Term contract
