About the role

  • The Grade A Shift Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient management of security operations at the assigned site. The role is responsible for managing site security personnel, ensuring effective rostering and deployment, addressing security and HR-related matters, conducting investigations and inspections, and ensuring compliance with Company and client requirements.
  • The Grade A Shift Manager will report directly to the Key Accounts Manager.

Qualifications

  • PSIRA Grade A Registered.
  • Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
  • First Aid training.
  • Fire Fighting training.
  • Health and Safety Representative training.
  • Valid Firearm Competency.
  • Valid Code 08 driver's licence and own reliable transport.
  • Code 10 driver's licence with PDP will be advantageous.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • 3–5 years' experience in the Security Industry.
  • 3–5 years' previous supervisory experience.
  • 3–5 years' experience in Estate Security.
  • Proven experience in handling Industrial Relations IR matters.
  • Solid computer literacy and administrative skills.
  • Knowledge of Security Industry regulations, including operational and client requirements.
  • Snake handling experience.
  • Excellent people and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent report-writing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

What you will be doing

  • Enforce the Company's Disciplinary Code of Conduct.
  • Ensure effective and efficient day-to-day management of site security personnel.
  • Ensure effective and efficient rostering of site security personnel.
  • Assist with the training and development of site security personnel.
  • Provide site-specific security recommendations for consideration by Senior Management.
  • Investigate on-site allegations and conduct estate investigations, reporting on findings accordingly.
  • Handle and resolve staff and client complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Provide administrative support relating to site security operations.
  • Identify and address HR-related matters in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Manage and address Industrial Relations-related matters.
  • Manage leave accruals and operational efficiencies in line with Company requirements.
  • Conduct random fence and perimeter inspections.
  • Conduct risk analysis and risk assessment surveys.
  • Conduct audits and inspections of security equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Security Industry regulations, operational requirements and client standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports as required.
  • Promote high standards of service delivery, professionalism and client satisfaction.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as required in support of effective site security operations.
