- The Grade A CCTV Controller is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the Control Room, maintaining continuous CCTV surveillance and supporting the implementation of access control and security procedures.
- The role is responsible for monitoring and responding to security-related activities, conducting CCTV investigations, maintaining accurate records and statistics, preparing reports and providing effective communication and administrative support within the Control Room.
- The Grade A CCTV Controller will report directly to the Control Room Manager.

Qualifications
- PSIRA Grade A registration.
- Matric / Grade 12 – certified copy required.
- SASSETA NQF US 11513 Level 4, 15 credits – "Operate Effectively within a Specified Control Room Environment".
- SASSETA NQF US 11508 Level 4, 10 credits – "Write Security Reports and Take Statements" will be advantageous.
- Microsoft Office certification will be advantageous.
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- 3–5 years' experience within the security industry.
- 3–5 years' experience in a Control Room, CCTV monitoring or call centre environment.
- Proven experience in CCTV surveillance and investigations.
- Proven experience with electronic security systems and operator training.
- Experience with alarm monitoring systems, including CATHEXIS and SCADA, will be advantageous.
- Solid computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of access control procedures and Control Room operations.
- Knowledge of Security Industry regulations and operational requirements.
- Experience in report writing and maintaining accurate records.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, clients and members of the public.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent observation skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
- Ability to exercise discretion when handling and disclosing confidential information.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
Additional demonstrable requirements
- Valid Code 08 driver's licence will be advantageous.
- SAMAE Surveillance and Monitoring Assessment Exercise profiling.
- PAW Personality & Work – Integrity profiling.
- 20/20 vision eye test certificate to be supplied by the applicant.
- ISASA Security Training – CCTV Body Language & Observation Skills will be advantageous.
- ISPS training will be advantageous. Training will be provided to the successful applicant.
- First Aid, Fire Fighting and Health and Safety Representative training will be advantageous.
What you will be doing
- Ensure that the Control Room remains fully operational and functions efficiently at all times.
- Maintain and uphold the primary function and operational requirements of the Control Room.
- Conduct continuous CCTV surveillance and monitoring of designated areas.
- Conduct CCTV investigations and provide accurate information and reports as required.
- Monitor and manage access control procedures, including access onto the wharf side.
- Manage shipping movements into and out of the Cutler area.
- Respond to and assist with staff and client complaints in a professional and appropriate manner.
- Operate effectively across multiple Control Room functions, including CCTV monitoring and answering telephone calls.
- Maintain accurate records, statistics and Control Room documentation.
- Prepare clear, accurate and timely security reports and statements.
- Perform general administrative duties in support of Control Room operations.
- Assist with compliance requirements relating to the ISPS Code.
- Liaise with electronic and mechanical maintenance contractors regarding security and Control Room equipment.
- Carry out duties and responsibilities in accordance with the applicable Site Job Description.
- Enforce and adhere to the Company's Code of Conduct, policies, procedures and operational standards.
- Maintain professional communication and appropriate telephone etiquette when interacting with employees, clients and members of the public.
- Exercise appropriate discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information.
- Support the effective operation and security of the site through proactive monitoring, observation and reporting.
