Role Overview

Goldi, one of South Africa's leading integrated poultry producers within the Astral Group, is looking for a versatile, dependable and customer-focused Multi-Skilled General Worker to join its Factory Shop team in Standerton, Mpumalanga.

The successful candidate will provide flexible support across the store by assisting with receiving, stock movement, shelf replenishment, customer packing, checking, housekeeping and general shop-floor duties wherever operational demand is highest.

This opportunity is suited to a hands-on team player who learns quickly, works safely and accurately, and takes pride in maintaining excellent service, product availability and store standards.

Role Responsibilities

•  Receive, offload, check, move and store stock safely, accurately and according to Company procedures.

•  Replenish shelves and product displays and apply the required stock-rotation principles.

•  Pack customers’ purchases neatly and assist customers with goods, baskets and trolleys when required.

•  Provide relief checking by comparing products against till slips and other authorised documents.

•  Assist with stock counts, variance checks, waste control and loss-prevention activities.

•  Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping in the store, receiving, storage, packing and customer areas.

•  Support customer service, queue management and shop-floor duties during busy trading periods.

•  Assist in different store functions and provide reliable operational relief wherever required.

•  Use handheld scanners, point-of-sale equipment and stock-control systems only when trained and authorised.

•  Handle products safely and maintain the required food-safety, hygiene and cold-chain standards.

•  Comply with all health, safety, security and Company policies and procedures.

•  Report stock discrepancies, damaged products, hazards and operational concerns promptly.

Required Qualifications and Knowledge

•  Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.

•  At least two years of relevant retail, warehouse, stock-control or customer-service experience.

•  Experience in receiving, checking, packing and stock handling will be advantageous.

•  Basic computer literacy in Microsoft Excel and Word.

•  Experience using handheld scanners, point-of-sale or stock-control systems will be advantageous.

•  Basic knowledge of stock rotation, product handling, food safety and retail loss prevention.

•  Receiving, stock-control, loss-control, customer-service, food-safety or health-and-safety training will be advantageous.

•  Good customer-service, communication and teamwork skills.

•  Versatility, adaptability and the ability to learn new duties quickly.

•  Strong attention to detail and a trustworthy, reliable and responsible approach.

•  Physical fitness and the ability to stand for extended periods, lift stock and move between retail, receiving, chilled and frozen areas.

•  Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, early mornings and extended trading hours according to the roster.

•  A commitment to safe product handling, food safety, product quality and maintaining the Goldi brand.
