Role Overview
Goldi is looking for an energetic and responsible Relief Retail Factory Shop Supervisor to support the effective operation of its flagship Factory Shop in Standerton.
The successful candidate will supervise store employees, coordinate daily retail activities and provide operational relief when the Retail Factory Shop Manager or Assistant Retail Factory Shop Manager is unavailable.
This role requires a hands-on individual with strong leadership, customer-service and retail operational skills who can maintain high standards and keep the store running efficiently.
Role Responsibilities
- Provide relief supervisory coverage and take operational control of the store when required.
- Coordinate opening and closing procedures and ensure that the store is ready for trading.
- Allocate duties, supervise employees, monitor attendance and maintain effective shift handovers.
- Oversee till operations, cash-ups, refunds, price adjustments and the secure handling of cash.
- Monitor stock receiving, storage, rotation, merchandising, pricing, counts, variances and shrinkage.
- Support deli, cashier, checking and general-worker activities during normal and peak trading periods.
- Resolve customer queries and complaints and maintain high customer-service and housekeeping standards.
- Enforce food safety, cold-chain, hygiene, health and safety, security and Company requirements.
- Report sales, cash, stock, staffing, equipment, safety and operational exceptions to management.
- Be available to work extended trading hours, weekends and public holidays.
Required Qualifications and Knowledge
- Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.
- A relevant retail, business or supervisory qualification will be advantageous.
- Minimum 3 years' relevant retail experience.
- Previous supervisory or team-leadership experience will be advantageous.
- Experience in cash handling, point-of-sale systems and stock control.
- Knowledge of general retail operations and customer-service standards.
- Food-retail or FMCG experience will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and cold-chain requirements will be beneficial.
- Basic computer literacy in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Good communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
- A dependable, honest and hands-on approach.
- Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
- Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and extended trading hours.
