Goldi is seeking a solutions-driven Plant Engineer to ensure all manufacturing facilities machinery, utilities, and infrastructure run safely, reliably, and at peak efficiency. Job Description
The ideal candidate would be responsible for
- Assist in planning, costing & execution of capital projects;
- Assist in compiling of annual CAPEX & OPEX budgets;
- Operational and maintenance responsibility over the following sections:
electrical MV equipment, generators, transformers, switch gear etc.
refrigeration plants, condensers and evaporators.
air compressors, receivers and blowers.
water recycle and filtration plants.
site services.
- Optimization of Goldi PPP water and electricity systems (reduce waste and use);
- Optimize use of Pragma CMMS to ensure plant reliability and artisan efficiency standards;
- Daily interaction with Lekwa Municipality to ensure consistent supply of electricity and water;
- Daily interaction with a large number of suppliers in an endeavor to proactively source the most cost effective & quality intrinsic solutions, thereby maximizing plant output;
- Implementation & maintenance of various 20 Keys projects within the Engineering department;
- Daily interaction with various departmental & inter-group role players at management level;
- The Maintenance Manager and Plant Engineer are expected to work closely and offer relief when either is on extended leave;
- The Plant Engineer part of the succession plan to replace the Engineering Manager and therefor must also deputize as department head;
- GMR2.1 appointment over;
- Sterilization plant. (includes steam boilers and pressure vessels);
- Refrigeration plant and ammonia equipment;
- Electrical MV and reticulation systems;
- Water filtration plant. (includes WWTP);
- Logistics;
- Services;
- Approve statutory inspections and ensure these are filed correctly.
The successful candidate must meet the following requirements
- Must have a technical tertiary qualification preferably in the electrical field and must be in possession of a valid Government Certificate of Competence;
- Installation Electrician Certification;
- 10 years working experience in a Poultry Primary Processing Plant;
- Ammonia Category B certification. (added advantage);
- Steam Boiler Management certification. (added advantage);
- Must be able to work overtime & on weekends when necessary;
- Ideally permanently reside within 40 km radius of the Goldi PPP.
