Canteen & Laundry Clerk Role Overview
Goldi, one of South Africa's leading integrated poultry under the Astral Foods Group, is seeking an experienced and reliable Canteen and Laundry Clerk to oversee our daily laundry operations
This dual-responsibility role is central to maintaining daily laundry operations while supporting canteen operations as required.
Role Responsibilities The role will report to the Canteen Manager.
- Manage daily laundry operations.
- Train, supervise, and evaluate laundry attendants to ensure high productivity and morale.
- Inspect finished garments for stains, damage, and proper packaging before distribution.
- Monitor the operation of commercial washing machines, dryers; coordinate minor troubleshooting and maintenance repairs.
- Ensure safe handling of laundry chemicals, proper chemical dosing/dispensing systems, and compliance with health, safety, and PPE protocols.
- Track daily volumes, monitor cleaning supplies, and assist with periodic stock-takes.
- Responsible for the ordering, inventory tracking, and quality control of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with canteen operations when required.
Required Qualifications and Knowledge
- Matric
- The person must be computer literate
- Must have at least 2 years supervisory experience and interpersonal skills as well as problem solving and planning skills.
- Good communication, leadership, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
- The candidate should be hardworking, honest and self-motivated and willing to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
- It is essential that the candidate have a passion for implementing 20 Keys.
