General Worker (Mechanical) (Centurion)

The Role

• To assist the Fitters and Maintenance Manager with daily maintenance activities, ensuring equipment, facilities, and workspaces remain safe, functional, and fit for purpose.

What you'll be doing

Maintenance and Repairs

You will roll up your sleeves and

• Perform general maintenance tasks such as spray-painting shelving, basic welding repairs, grinding of tiles, and other ad hoc maintenance activities as requested.

Assist with routine and preventative maintenance, including

• Fixing air and water leaks
• Replacing bearings
• Inspecting silos for leaks, water pressure, and drainage
• Assisting with repairs to extruders, dryers, and Nerak elevator buckets
• Cleaning and maintaining coating machinery

Hygiene, Housekeeping & Occupational Health and Safety

Safety and cleanliness are non-negotiable. You will

• Adhere strictly to Occupational Health & Safety OHS and Food Safety standards FSSC 22000.
• Identify health and safety hazards and implement corrective and preventative actions.
• Report hazards and risks promptly to Management.
• Maintain high personal hygiene standards at all times.

Keep work areas neat, organised, and compliant by

• Cleaning and sorting tools and equipment
• Safely storing materials in the workshop
• Applying clean-as-you-go principles consistently

Requirements

What you'll bring

• Grade 12 NQF Level 4
• Valid Driver's Licence Code B will score you extra points
• 1–2 years' experience in a maintenance or similar hands-on role
