This position is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in keeping a clean and organised workplace, and is willing to assist wherever needed within the factory. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for general labouring duties, including but not limited to:
- Assisting with general housekeeping throughout the factory.
- Maintaining Roemer's 5S standards on a daily basis:
- Sort – identify what is needed.
- Set – a place for everything and everything in its place.
- Shine – make cleaning part of every day's work.
- Standardise – follow agreed procedures and standards.
- Sustain – actively participate in maintaining and improving 5S.
• Cleaning machinery before and after use. • Keeping workshop, storage and general factory areas clean, organised and safe. • Assisting with machine maintenance, including stripping, cleaning, painting and reassembly under supervision. • Making boxes and securing products for dispatch. • Packing and unpacking blades, knives and other products. • Assisting customers and suppliers with loading and unloading goods. • Assisting with the packing, unpacking and movement of stock and materials. • Carrying out general manual duties as required by management within the scope of the position. • Adhering to all company Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) policies and procedures. • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and implementing approved changes within the required timeframes. Minimum Requirements • Grade 10 or equivalent. • Physically fit and able to perform manual labour. • Good communication skills. • Ability to work well within a team. • Reliable, punctual and willing to learn. • Previous factory or manufacturing experience will be advantageous but is not essential.
