General Work/Driver - Roofing and Maintenance

Introduction

Our client is a well established Roofing and Maintence company base in Fourways.

They have an opportunity for a General Work and General Worker/Driver who has experience in the Roofing industry to join their team.

Please note: Only candidate who have worked in the Roofing Industry with maintenance experience will be considered

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to the following

• Ensure the maintenance, safe keeping and storage of the Company vehicle intrusted to you

• Complete the Vehicle checklist before departing on a daily bases

• Transport staff to and from storageworx to site, collect and deliver materials from suppliers to the work site

• Assisting with the loading and unloading of materials to be used on site work

• Do Roof refurbishments or Re-roofing according to instruction and plan

• Ensure the correct products and tools are used during the Waterproofing process on new and/or repair of the roof

• Install new Gutters and/or do the required repair/maintenance work on Gutters

• Install new Ceiling and Insulation and/or do the necessary repair work to the ceilings as required and instructed

• Ensure the correct preparation of surfaces and apply the correct roof coating/paint in the specified product and colour

• Ensure that the equipment and machines used on the site and kept clean and maintained

• Removing hazardous materials from worksites

• Work in strict compliance with safety standards and instructions from Site Manager

• Working collaboratively with other contractors, co-workers and that are involved in projects

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Minimum of 3 years working experience in the Roofing and maintenance

• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills that enable him/her to work co-operatively and effectively with other contractors, fellow team member and Site Manager.

• Requires building/Roofing, damp treatment process skills

• Must have General paint application knowledge

• Vehicle Driving skills

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

• Good communication skills, verbal and written

• Real-time problem-solving skills

• Must be able to work under pressure

Matric preferred

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED

• Knowledge of building structures

• Ability to conduct basic roof repairs to ridge, valley, rake verge, guttering and sheeted roof work.

• Ability to prepare and apply paint coatings

• Valid Code 08 Driver License

LANGUAGE SKILLS REQUIRED

• Good command of English

• African languages would be advantages

• PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Pass all Health & Safety checks on frequent.

• Physical stamina, have physical endurance to carry out strenuous tasks throughout the day

Package & Remuneration

R6,000.00 to R8,000 subject to experience
