Our client in the business services sector is seeking a commercially driven General Manager to lead its Pinetown operation.
This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for operations, people and financial performance. Approximately 60% of your time will focus on working alongside the sales team and Account Managers to grow revenue, strengthen client relationships and secure larger deals.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations, staff and overall business performance.
- Drive sales growth, service excellence and profitability.
- Support the sales team and Account Managers with client meetings, major negotiations and new business opportunities.
- Build relationships with senior client decision-makers to retain and grow accounts.
- Prepare and manage budgets and forecasts, monitoring revenue and operating costs.
- Ensure accurate, timely financial and operational reporting.
- Manage business risks, maintain legal compliance and ensure effective controls.
- Adapt services to changing customer and market needs.
- Present performance updates, challenges and growth opportunities to EXCO.
- Set team objectives, manage performance and develop staff.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Relevant tertiary degree or diploma.
- At least 5 years’ management experience in a service-driven organisation, including staff management.
- Proven success in sales, business development and client relationship management.
- Experience managing budgets, forecasts and operational performance.
- Experience reporting to an executive committee.
- Strong negotiation skills and a practical, hands-on leadership approach.
Suitable backgrounds include General Management, Branch Management, Commercial Management, Sales Management or Key Account Management, with proven responsibility for managing staff.
Experience in business services, logistics, courier services, office automation, IT or managed services would be relevant.
Package & Remuneration
R1.2 to R1.4 Million per annum
