Introduction

Experienced and results-driven Hospitality General Manager with over 5 years of experience in the hospitality and lodge environment, specialising in operational leadership, revenue growth, financial management, guest experience and team development . Proven ability to lead large, multi-department teams, drive profitability and implement operational strategies that improve efficiency, service standards and overall business performance.

  • Provide overall strategic and operational leadership across two safari lodges, overseeing all aspects of daily lodge operations.
  • Lead, manage and develop a team of approximately 120 employees , fostering a high-performance, accountable and engaged working environment.
  • Oversee all guest-facing operations to ensure consistently high standards of service, hospitality and guest satisfaction.
  • Drive revenue growth, profitability and overall business performance across both properties.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, service delivery and financial performance.
  • Monitor and control operational costs, budgets and expenditure to maximise profitability.
  • Oversee financial performance, forecasting and revenue management , identifying opportunities to improve occupancy and revenue.
  • Lead and support the Reservations and Sales functions to increase occupancy, bookings, revenue and market penetration.
  • Identify and develop new commercial opportunities, partnerships, guest experiences and revenue streams .
  • Drive innovation and continuously enhance the lodge offering to strengthen the guest experience and competitive position.
  • Establish and maintain strong operational procedures, standards and controls across both lodges.
  • Manage performance, accountability and productivity across all departments.
  • Recruit, mentor, coach and develop management and operational teams to strengthen internal capability and succession planning.
  • Address performance and operational challenges decisively, implementing practical and sustainable solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with guests, staff, suppliers, business partners and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with hospitality standards, health and safety requirements and relevant operational policies.
  • Take a visible, hands-on leadership approach, remaining approachable and actively involved in day-to-day lodge operations.
  • Analyse operational and financial performance and implement corrective actions to achieve business objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across service delivery, operational efficiency, cost control and guest satisfaction.
  • Lead the overall guest journey and ensure an exceptional experience across accommodation, conferencing, leisure and lodge activities.

  • Hospitality Management / Hotel Management Qualification
  • Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism Management or a related field
  • Management Development / Leadership Qualification
  • Financial Management and Budgeting Training

  • Food & Beverage Management Training
  • Health & Safety / Occupational Health and Safety Training
  • Customer Service and Guest Relations Training
  • Microsoft Office / Computer Literacy
