The ideal candidate thrives in a remote bush setting and can manage a full team across departments while keeping guest experience and operational standards front and centre.
Core Criteria
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a General Manager or senior manager within a lodge, resort, or hotel environment • Proven track record managing multi-department operations (accommodation, F&B, spa, activities) • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, stock control, and cost management • Solid staff management and leadership skills, with experience training and disciplining teams • Understanding of maintenance and facilities management in a remote lodge setting • Excellent guest relations and problem-solving ability • Comfortable living and working in a remote, bush-based environment • Valid driver's licence Core Responsibilities:
• Oversee all day-to-day operations across accommodation, food and beverage, spa, and guest activities • Manage and mentor department heads and staff across the property • Control budgets, stock, and operational costs • Maintain high standards of guest service and resolve guest queries or complaints • Oversee maintenance and upkeep of lodge facilities and grounds • Manage staffing, rosters, and training across departments • Ensure health, safety, and hygiene standards are upheld throughout the property • Liaise with ownership or management on performance, reporting, and strategic planning • Coordinate with reservations and marketing to support occupancy and revenue goals On Offer:
- Salary: R30,000 to R40,000 per month, negotiable depending on experience
