We are looking for a commercially sharp, innovative leader to run our Innovation Station and turn promising ideas into profitable, scalable food businesses . This dynamic role requires managing daily performance, operational launches, and testing new menu formats in a live retail environment .
Important Working Hours Note: This position operates strictly according to retail store hours, not standard office hours. Candidates must be available to work weekends, public holidays, and evening shifts to align with peak operational demands.
Duties & Responsibilities
New Business Concepts: Execute and manage operational launches of new brands and support their rollout to additional locations .
Innovation Pilots: Spot market opportunities, test new menus and formats, measure results, and guide implementation .
Operational Excellence: Manage daily performance, KPIs, service standards, quality control, SOPs, and customer satisfaction .
Commercial Performance: Own budgets, food and labor costs, gross profit (GP), cash-ups, reporting, and overall profitability .
People & Standards: Build and train high-performance teams, maintain accountability, and uphold health and safety requirements .
Desired Experience & Qualification
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in senior restaurant or takeaway-food management, with deep Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) operational knowledge .
Business Development: Proven track record launching new foodservice models or innovations .
Financial Acumen: Strong command of gross profit, cost of sales, food-cost control, cash-ups, and forecasting .
Education: Matric certificate required; a business or hospitality qualification is advantageous .
Licensing & Mobility: Valid Code 08 driver’s license and willingness to travel for pilots and rollout support .
Availability: Full flexibility to work store hours, weekends, and rotational shifts.
