General Manager / FOH Manager

Introduction

The Daily Coffee Café Heidelberg is seeking an experienced and hands-on Front of House Manager / General Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations and lead our front-of-house team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining operational standards, managing staff performance, and driving a positive guest experience.

Applicants must reside in Heidelberg or surrounding areas, or be willing to relocate.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily front-of-house operations.

• Lead, supervise and motivate waitrons and baristas.

• Conduct staff performance management and disciplinary processes where required.

• Prepare and manage staff rosters and shift schedules.

• Perform daily cash-ups and cash controls.

• Conduct front-of-house stock counts and stock management.

• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service excellence.

• Handle customer complaints professionally and resolve issues effectively.

• Open and close the store according to company procedures.

• Maintain cleanliness, presentation and operational standards throughout the restaurant.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Minimum 2 years' management experience in a sit-down restaurant, coffee shop or hospitality environment.

• Proven experience managing front-of-house teams.

• Experience with staff scheduling, cash handling and stock control.

• Strong leadership and communication skills.

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.

• Reliable transport will be advantageous.
