The role oversees fleet management, operational teams, compliance, safety, efficiency, and profitability, with full accountability for the performance of the business unit and reporting to senior management. Detail: Key Responsibilities Lead the overall transport and fleet operation , aligning performance with business objectives. Manage and develop Fleet Supervisors, Controllers and driver teams . Optimize route planning, scheduling, fleet utilization and turnaround times . Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, RTMS and safety standards . Drive fleet performance across uptime, fuel efficiency, maintenance costs and profitability . Manage departmental budgets, cost controls and financial performance . Maintain strong client relationships and SLA performance . Lead recruitment, performance management and staff development . Prepare and present operational and financial reports to senior leadership. Identify opportunities for fleet growth, process improvement and technology adoption . Experience Required 8–10 years' transport/logistics experience , including 3–5 years in senior management . Proven leadership of multi-level teams within heavy vehicle transport operations. Strong commercial, budgeting and cost-management skills. Sound knowledge of road transport legislation, RTMS and safety compliance . PBS vehicle operations experience advantageous. Experience with fleet management and telematics systems . Strong client and SLA management experience. Matric essential ; relevant tertiary qualification advantageous. Valid driver's license . show more...
