Introduction

Area of specialization: To provide strategic leadership and oversight of NTCSA’s financial stewardship by ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, maintaining a strong financial control framework, driving statutory and regulatory compliance, overseeing efficient financial operations, and safeguarding organisational assets.

This role enables sound governance, supports informed decision-making, and promotes operational excellence across all finance functions. Position/Task Grade: EEE Department: Finance Business Unit: Finance Location: Sunninghill- Megawatt Park-Gauteng Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial reporting & compliance to IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). • Drive financial control and governance. • Oversee Finance operations. • Ensure statutory compliance and external reporting.Strengthen working capital and financial stewardship. • Lead finance Transformation, digital finance and continuous improvements. • Drive leadership and people development. • Risk management concepts and frameworks • All relevant legislation, including PFMA, NCA, Companies Act/Companies Bill etc. • Detailed knowledge of international financial reporting standards • Design and implementation of policies and procedures • Broad business acumen and frameworks around fraud frameworks • Internal and external auditing processes • Project re-engineering • King IV and applicable corporate-governance principles • Comprehensive knowledge of the PFMA, Companies Act, applicable Treasury Regulations, tax legislation and other statutory and regulatory requirements relevant to NTCSA. • Advanced knowledge of IFRS, emerging accounting standards, technical accounting interpretations and financial disclosure requirements. • Financial control frameworks, including preventative, detective and automated controls. • Financial close, consolidation and statutory reporting processes. • Tax governance and compliance. • Working-capital management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial transaction-processing environments. • ERP-enabled financial controls, finance automation, data governance and digital finance. • Combined assurance, internal controls, fraud-risk management and audit remediation. • Understanding of the energy-sector regulatory environment and financial implications associated with NTCSA’s evolving TSO mandate Skills

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualification(s)

• Chartered Accountant (South Africa) at NQF8 with 480 credits Experience :

• 10 years extensive senior leadership experience, with a strong track record in finance, financial reporting, IFRS compliance, financial governance, and external audit management. • Demonstrated experience leading a sizeable financial control, financial accounting or external reporting function within a large and complex organisation. • Strong track record in IFRS reporting and preparation of annual financial statements. • Experience leading major external audits and managing complex audit matters. • Demonstrated experience in strengthening financial controls and improving financial reporting quality. • Experience in finance transformation, ERP environments and process improvements. • Experience within a regulated, infrastructure, energy, state-owned or capital-intensive environment will be advantageous Professional Registration:
