Job Description

  • CTP Flexibles, a leading flexible packaging manufacturer and part of the Caxton/CTP Group, is seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager to lead our Cape Town operation.
  • This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished manufacturing executive with a proven track record in driving operational excellence, commercial performance, and strategic growth within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to the business.
  • Drive profitability, productivity, quality, safety, and customer service.
  • Develop and implement business strategies aligned with the Group's objectives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing management team.
  • Ensure optimal production planning, manufacturing efficiency, and cost control.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and capital expenditure.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, environmental, health and safety, and quality standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and best-practice methodologies.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing/ Operations Management, Business Management, or related field or relevant RPL.
  • A postgraduate qualification MBA or equivalent will be advantageous.
  • Minimum of 10 years' senior management experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the printing, packaging, converting, plastics, or flexible packaging industry.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with responsibility for budgets and profitability.
  • Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Sound knowledge of labour legislation, health and safety, and quality management systems.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
