- Lead the overall transport and fleet operation , aligning performance with business objectives.
- Manage and develop Fleet Supervisors, Controllers and driver teams .
- Optimize route planning, scheduling, fleet utilization and turnaround times .
- Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, RTMS and safety standards .
- Drive fleet performance across uptime, fuel efficiency, maintenance costs and profitability .
- Manage departmental budgets, cost controls and financial performance .
- Maintain strong client relationships and SLA performance .
- Lead recruitment, performance management and staff development .
- Prepare and present operational and financial reports to senior leadership.
- Identify opportunities for fleet growth, process improvement and technology adoption .
Experience Required
- 810 years transport/logistics experience , including 35 years in senior management .
- Proven leadership of multi-level teams within heavy vehicle transport operations.
- Strong commercial, budgeting and cost-management skills.
- Sound knowledge of road transport legislation, RTMS and safety compliance .
- PBS vehicle operations experience advantageous.
- Experience with fleet management and telematics systems .
- Strong client and SLA management experience.
- Matric essential ; relevant tertiary qualification advantageous.
- Valid drivers license .
