We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded, and results-driven General Farm Manager to take overall responsibility for the management, performance, and development of the company’s farming operations.
This is a senior management position requiring an individual with proven experience managing farms or large-scale agricultural operations, strong business acumen, and the ability to manage the farm as a commercially driven operation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, financial and operational management of the farm , including people management, agricultural production, infrastructure, irrigation, equipment, procurement, stock control, health and safety, supplier relationships, and operational reporting.
The ideal candidate must be equally comfortable working strategically with senior management and being hands-on in the field when required.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in farm management, agricultural operations, or a senior agricultural management position .
- Relevant qualification in Agriculture, Farm Management, Horticulture, Agricultural Management, or a related field .
- Proven experience managing large-scale farming operations, multiple departments, or multiple farm sites .
- Proven experience managing and leading large teams , including supervisors and operational staff.
- Strong business and commercial management experience , with the ability to manage budgets, costs, resources, and operational performance.
- Demonstrated experience taking overall responsibility for farm operations and business performance .
- Strong knowledge of plant production, irrigation, landscaping, harvesting, cultivation, and general farm maintenance .
- Experience managing farm machinery, equipment, vehicles, infrastructure, and other company assets .
- Strong understanding of agricultural procurement, suppliers, stock control, and inventory management .
- Experience with budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and operational reporting .
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements within an agricultural and operational environment.
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and people-management abilities.
- Strong administrative and reporting capabilities.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and Excel .
- Valid driver's licence.
- Willingness to travel between company farms/sites when required.
- Ability to work independently and take full accountability for operational outcomes .
