GC - Part Time Basketball Coach

Requirements

• The College invites applications for the above-mentioned position, available from 1 January 2027 . Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who believe they have the required skills, passion and competencies to take on this position.

Requirements

• Proven performance of coaching and mentoring student athletes, including experience in the pastoral space
• Relevant sport-related qualifications
• Clearance from the National Register for Sex Offenders NRSO confirming no record of sexual offences against children and mentally impaired people or a valid police clearance certificate
• Ability to manage practices fixtures and work nights and/or weekends
• Conflict management skills
• Proven ability to work with diverse teams and/or a commitment to diversity and inclusion
• Understands and adheres to the by-laws, policies, procedures, regulations, and rules of St Stithians College

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students during team practices through the planning and delivery of structured training sessions.
• Attend and provide coaching support to students at home and away fixtures, including tournaments, festivals, and other sporting events.
• Committed to the development of each player and helping students develop in the sport, and teaching good sportsmanship
• Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to develop effective working relationships with athletes, coaching staff, parents and staff that support athletics.
• Complete attendance registers at all practices and submit team lists timeously for fixtures to the relevant Teacher-in-Charge TIC of sport
• Write termly sport comments for students and submit timeously to Teacher-in Charge TIC
• Represent Girls' College Sport at relevant sports trials when/where necessary as selectors and/or umpires
• Live out the Saints values while acting as role models to our students
