Full Stack Developer - Web and Mobile - (Contract) - On-site - Centurion

ENVIRONMENT

A leading technology driven organisation is seeking an experienced Full Stack Lead Developer to take technical and architectural ownership of a web and mobile application solution.  This is a hands on technical leadership role requiring strong expertise across [URL Removed] Capacitor, C# .NET Core and Microsoft Azure. In addition to contributing directly to development, the successful candidate will be responsible for defining the application's technical architecture, establishing development standards, guiding technical decisions and ensuring the solution remains scalable, secure and maintainable.  You will provide technical direction to developers while remaining actively involved in solution design, development, code reviews, troubleshooting and deployment.

DUTIES

Architecture & Technical Ownership

• Take overall technical and architectural ownership of the web and mobile application solution.
• Define and maintain the application's architecture across front end, mobile, backend and cloud components.
• Make key technical decisions relating to frameworks, integrations, APIs, security, scalability and deployment.
• Translate business and functional requirements into appropriate technical solutions.
• Ensure architectural decisions support long term scalability, performance, maintainability and security.
• Identify technical risks and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Define development patterns, standards and technical best practices.
• Maintain appropriate technical and architectural documentation.

Hands On Full Stack Development

• Remain actively involved in application development across the technology stack.
• Design and develop modern front end applications using [URL Removed] and maintain cross platform mobile applications using Capacitor.
• Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs using C# and .NET Core.
• Develop and oversee integrations between web, mobile, backend and third party systems.
• Troubleshoot complex application and production issues.
• Lead technical implementation of new functionality and major application enhancements.

Mobile Application Ownership

• Oversee development and maintenance of iOS and Android applications.
• Take ownership of mobile application build and release processes.
• Manage or oversee App Store and Google Play Store administration and submissions.
• Ensure mobile applications comply with relevant platform requirements.
• Resolve technical issues relating to mobile deployments, builds and releases.

Azure & Deployment

• Own or oversee application deployments using Microsoft Azure App Services.
• Define appropriate application configuration and deployment approaches across environments.
• Work with relevant infrastructure and DevOps teams to ensure reliable deployment and hosting.
• Contribute to CI/CD and release automation.
• Monitor and improve application reliability, availability and performance.

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical leadership, guidance and mentorship to developers.
• Review technical designs and ensure alignment with the overall solution architecture.
• Conduct and oversee code reviews.
• Establish and maintain coding standards and development best practices.
• Support developers with complex technical challenges.
• Drive improvements in code quality, testing, maintainability and development practices.
• Promote knowledge sharing and technical capability within the development team.

Delivery & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with business stakeholders, product teams and technical teams to understand requirements.
• Provide technical input into project planning, estimates and delivery timelines.
• Identify dependencies, technical constraints and delivery risks.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ensure technical delivery aligns with business requirements and agreed architectural standards.

REQUIREMENTS

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field is advantageous.
• Approximately 7 to 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Previous experience operating at Senior, Technical Lead or Lead Developer level.
• Demonstrable experience taking architectural or technical ownership of an application or solution.
• Strong commercial experience with [URL Removed] JavaScript and/or TypeScript development experience.
• Strong commercial experience with Capacitor and cross platform mobile application development.
• Strong understanding of iOS and Android application development and deployment.
• Hands on experience with App Store administration and application submissions.
• Strong backend development experience using C# and .NET Core.
• Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure App Services.
• Experience designing scalable, maintainable and secure application architectures.
• Strong understanding of software design principles, patterns and development best practices.
• Experience leading code reviews and establishing development standards.
• Strong Git and source control experience.
• Excellent technical troubleshooting and problem solving ability.

Advantageous

• Azure DevOps and CI/CD experience.
• Experience designing cloud based application architectures within Microsoft Azure.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience.
• Application security, authentication and authorisation experience.
• Experience designing complex system and third party integrations.
• Previous experience leading or mentoring a development team.
• Experience modernising or rearchitecting existing applications.
• Experience within high availability or high transaction environments.
