Our Client is looking for an Expert Full Stack Developer to join the core Software Engineering team within their global IT Hub, driving the transactional assets and static vehicle master data portfolio.

This mission-critical domain governs core factory vehicle data applications worldwide—including enterprise systems (IG_DOM, VDWH), Cloud Data Hub (CDH) Static Vehicle Master Data, and the strategic MIDA cloud migration initiative.

Operating as an authoritative regional industry leader, you will lead the architecture, engineering, and operation of scalable full-stack applications, distributed data pipelines, and AI-enabled platforms across Python, Java, and AWS.

• Advanced Polyglot Engineering & Clean Architecture: 7+ years of software engineering experience delivering complex production systems, with deep mastery in Python and Java (OOP/functional patterns, concurrency, packaging, performance optimization).

• Enterprise Data & Cloud-Native Streaming: Robust data engineering capabilities across batch and event-driven ingestion, ETL/ELT pipelines, contract-first APIs (REST, GraphQL), Kafka event streaming, and cloud-native AWS services.

• GenAI, Agentic Systems & Responsible AI: Proven capability in building AI-enabled solutions, LLM applications, autonomous agents, RAG patterns, prompt/context engineering, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop approval workflows.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Platform & Software Delivery: Design, build, test, deploy, and operate secure, scalable vehicle master data software, APIs, microservices, and platform capabilities.

• Data Pipeline Engineering: Construct reliable batch and streaming pipelines with clear data contracts, validation rules, lineage, and recoverability.

• AI Solution Engineering: Build reusable AI accelerators, multi-agent frameworks, RAG architectures, and evaluation guardrails with human oversight gates.

• Architecture & Landscape Simplification: Produce technical designs, interface contracts, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) to reduce landscape complexity during cloud migration.

• CI/CD & DevOps Automation: Maintain automated test suites, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, security vulnerability scans, and quality gates.

• Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Lead technical design and code reviews, mentor engineers, and champion engineering standards across distributed feature teams.

Applicants based outside of Gauteng must be willing to relocate to Midrand/Menlyn/Rosslyn. Please note that relocation to the province will be at the candidate's own cost.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with complex enterprise production systems.

• Proven expert-level delivery in Python and/or Java, with deep integration and data platform engineering experience.

• Practical evidence of AI-assisted or AI-native software delivery, including model evaluation, safety guardrails, and human-directed review.

• Certifications in AWS, Java, Python, Data Engineering, Architecture, Kubernetes, Terraform, or AI are advantageous.

• Willingness and ability to travel internationally when required.

• Advanced Python and Java development: clean code, concurrency, dependency packaging, and performance tuning.

• API and microservices architecture: REST, GraphQL, messaging patterns, Apache Kafka, and contract-first API development.

• Cloud-native engineering on AWS: serverless, container workloads, cloud storage, databases, queues, networking, and observability.

• Engineering excellence: automated unit/integration/contract/performance testing, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, secure coding, and code reviews.

Data Platform & AI Engineering

• Data engineering: batch and event-driven ingestion, ETL/ELT, data modeling, schema governance, data quality, and lineage tracking.

• AI engineering: LLM applications, AI agents, RAG patterns, context engineering, guardrails, and evaluation frameworks.

• Responsible AI-assisted development across specification, design, code generation, testing, documentation, and operations.

• Systems thinking: end-to-end architecture, failure mode analysis, architectural trade-offs, and dependency mapping.

Advantageous Skills

• Experience within automotive, mobility, manufacturing, or large multinational enterprise environments.

• Knowledge of federated data platforms, Digital Twin concepts, semantic models, knowledge graphs, and ontologies.

• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark, lakehouse/warehouse patterns, SQL, and NoSQL databases.

• Frontend development exposure with TypeScript/JavaScript and modern frameworks (Angular or React).
