Full Stack Developer - Cape Town, WC Western Cape

Full Stack Developer - remote

Primarily remote, with monthly in-person sessions in Cape Town. This hands-on role suits an experienced software developer who can work across backend services, frontend applications, cloud infrastructure and third-party integrations. ABOUT THE ROLE

The work covers the full software development lifecycle, from technical decisions and implementation through to deployment, monitoring and ongoing improvement. You will work closely with product, design and leadership to deliver reliable, production-ready systems in a small, high-trust environment. Offer

Key responsibilities include

• Design, build and maintain backend services using .NET Core and C#

• Develop responsive, production-grade applications using Angular, Angular Material and Ionic with TypeScript

• Model, maintain and optimise data in Microsoft SQL Server

• Build and support background services and scheduled processes

• Deploy and manage Azure cloud infrastructure

• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps

• Integrate with payment providers, communication platforms and healthcare systems

• Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise applications using tools such as Application Insights

• Work across multiple systems and technologies within the same sprint

• Collaborate with product, design and leadership to scope practical solutions

• Take ownership of work from initial idea through to production

AI-DRIVEN DEVELOPMENT

• AI-assisted development is a core part of the engineering workflow. Responsibilities include:

• Use modern AI tools to accelerate development and problem-solving

• Evaluate AI-generated code and recommendations critically

• Apply sound engineering judgement when reviewing, adapting and improving AI-assisted output

• Develop AI-assisted features where they support the product and its users

• Explore practical ways to use AI to improve productivity, quality and product capability

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• At least four years of professional software development experience

• Strong backend development experience with .NET and C#

• Solid frontend development experience with a modern framework, preferably Angular

• Good knowledge of relational databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server

• Proven experience working across the full stack in production environments

• Experience using AI tools as part of a professional development workflow

• Understanding of the strengths and limitations of AI in software engineering

• Ability to work independently, take ownership and solve problems methodically

• Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where requirements may evolve

• A pragmatic approach that balances delivery speed, quality and maintainability

• Clear communication and effective collaboration across technical and non-technical teams

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with Ionic, Flutter or a similar mobile development framework

• Exposure to cloud-native architectures on Microsoft Azure

• Experience integrating payment systems or external APIs

• An interest in or experience with health-tech, fintech or healthcare administration platforms
