Frontend Developer

Introduction

Job Purpose

•Design, develop, and maintain frontend user interfaces and components for web-based business applications used across Head Office and Branch Offices.

•Translate functional, business, and design requirements into high-quality, scalable frontend solutions using Blazor and the Microsoft .NET stack.

•Develop clean, efficient, and maintainable frontend code following established coding standards, UI guidelines, and component-based best practices.

•Perform thorough frontend testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure responsive, stable, and reliable user experiences across supported browsers and devices.

•Contribute daily to

oDevelopment of new UI features and enhancements for business systems (e.g., ERP, WMS, POS, Back Office applications).

oSupport and maintenance of existing frontend applications, ensuring consistent behavior and minimal disruption to users.

oIntegration of frontend components with backend APIs and services, collaborating with backend developers as required.

oContinuous improvement of frontend code quality through peer reviews, refactoring, and reuse of shared components.

•Create and maintain accurate frontend technical documentation, including component specifications, UI patterns, and release notes.

•Collaborate closely with backend developers, designers, and IT Operations to ensure smooth deployments, reliable production rollouts, and alignment between frontend and backend systems.

•Stay up to date with emerging frontend technologies and practices within the Microsoft ecosystem, particularly Blazor, .NET, and related UI frameworks.

•Minimum 5+ years’ experience in .NET / C# development, with a strong focus on frontend development using Blazor (Web Assembly preferred), and experience consuming APIs and working within modern development practices

Testing & Quality Assurance

1.Perform frontend testing and defect resolution.

2.Participate in peer code reviews.

3.Support QA during UAT and production validation.

DevOps & Deployment

1.Support frontend build, release, and deployment activities.

2.Troubleshoot frontend production issues.

3.Collaborate with IT Operations during releases.

Team Collaboration

1.Collaborate effectively with backend developers, QA, and IT Operations.

2.Participate actively in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

3.Support peers through code reviews and knowledge sharing

4.Mentor junior developers

Stakeholder Communication

1.Collaborate with business stakeholders to clarify UI and frontend requirements.

2.Translate business and user needs into clear frontend solutions.

3.Communicate progress, risks, and technical constraints effectively

Process Optimisation

1.Identify frontend development inefficiencies or bottlenecks.

2.Suggest and contribute to improvements in frontend workflows or standards.

3.Participate in refactoring and technical debt reduction initiatives

Research & Innovation

1.Identify frontend improvements and technical debt.

2.Participate in refactoring and UI modernisation.

3.Stay current with Blazor and .NET frontend practices

Documentation

1.Maintain frontend technical and component documentation.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualification

Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent relevant work experience

•5+ years’ professional experience in .NET / C# development

•Frontend Developer with strong experience in the Microsoft stack

Skills, Knowledge and Attributes

1.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

2.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in frontend debugging, UI behaviour analysis, and integration-related issue resolution.

3.Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, working effectively with backend developers, QA, IT Operations, and business units.

4.High proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem, with a frontend development focus.

5.Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and their application in frontend and component-based architectures.

6.Strong understanding of Blazor application development, including component lifecycle, state management, and client-side rendering (WebAssembly preferred).

7.Proficiency with frontend web technologies including HTML5, CSS, and modern UI development practices; JavaScript knowledge for interop or enhancement purposes is advantageous.

8.Experience consuming and integrating with backend services and APIs (ASP.NET Core / Web API), with an understanding of request/response patterns and error handling.

9.Working knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and experience working within Agile / Scrum teams.

10.Experience using version control systems such as Git and Bitbucket within a team-based development workflow.

11.Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes, sufficient to support frontend builds, releases, and troubleshooting.

12.Good understanding of application security fundamentals, particularly authentication and authorization as they relate to frontend applications.

13.Ability to take ownership of frontend development tasks or features from initial requirement analysis through implementation, testing, and release.

14.Strong organizational and follow-up skills, including task tracking, backlog awareness, and delivery accountability.

15.Competence in creating and maintaining frontend-focused technical documentation, including component designs, UI guidelines, and release notes.

16.High attention to detail and a strong commitment to clean, maintainable, and reusable frontend code.

17.Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines in fast-paced, production-focused environments.
