Front-End Developer (Expert)

Introduction

Location: Menlyn, Pretoria

Hybrid: 2 days in office per week

Contract: 3 years, renewable

Nationality: South African citizens/residents preferred. Applicants with valid work permits will also be considered.

We are looking for an experienced Front-End Developer (Expert) to join a global IT environment, working on solutions supporting Supplier Call Off and Supply Chain Control products.

The environment provides standardized IT processes for demand planning, call-off creation and supply control, including Track & Trace capabilities for lot-size parts , with a strong focus on usability, user experience, operational stability and scalable solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

Role & Responsibilities

• Operations – 2nd and 3rd level

• Development of new functionality – backend and frontend

• Changes to the existing solution

• Development of automated tests for the solution

• Further improving automated test coverage

• Development of API to the backend

• Functional and technical refinement

• Maintenance and functional enhancement

• Support and error analysis during overall test cycles and rollouts

• Quality checks regarding development across all teams, including local, international and third-party supplier teams

Desired Experience & Qualification

Essential Skills

Frontend

• At least 6+ years' experience in front-end technologies:

• JavaScript

• TypeScript

• HTML5

• CSS

• Thorough knowledge of UI frameworks such as:

• Angular (Version 9 or higher) or

• React

• At least 3 years' experience with Test Frameworks , e.g.:

• Selenium

• Cypress

• Playwright

Backend – Java or Python

• At least 3+ years' developing experience in:

• Java (JavaEE) and/or

• Python (3.9 upwards)

• At least 1 year's experience with frameworks :

• Java: Spring, Spring Boot or Quarkus and/or

• Python: Flask or Django

• At least 1 year's experience with Test Frameworks , from Unit to E2E

DevOps Experience

• At least 1+ year Containerization and Orchestration :

• Kubernetes

• Docker

• At least 1+ year CI/CD, Pipeline Setup and Automation , e.g. GitHub Actions

• At least 1+ year Automated Provisioning of Infrastructure and Applications , including:

• Infrastructure as Code

• GitOps

• Terraform

• Ansible

• ArgoCD

• Flux

• Helm

• Monitoring and Logging

• Experience with ITIL Operation processes :

• Incident Management

• Problem Management

• Change Management

• Experience with public cloud providers, e.g. Microsoft Azure

• Any additional responsibilities assigned in the Agile Working Model (AWM) Charter

Advantageous Skills

• Experience with Streaming solutions, e.g. Kafka

• Knowledge of developing and maintaining Microservices

• Agile development experience, e.g. Scrum

• Experience with SAP systems (ECC, S4)

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar qualification

• 6+ years' experience in Frontend development

• 3+ years' experience in Backend development

• 3 years' experience in Public Cloud (Azure)
